MeeT RoSe and LilY!

Had so much fun designing this doll.  I am always looking at cloth dolls on Pinterest and came across beautiful dolls created by doll artist Valeska Solar and doll artist Lica Fernandes Atelie. You can google them and see their beautiful creations.

Of course no patterns that can be ordered as Valeska Solar is from Spain and Lica Atelie is from Russia and these dolls are on the big size and I like my dolls to be under 12 to 14 inches as they fit better on my shelves.  So...out came my pencil and paper and Rose is what I came up with! The hardest part was her feet as I wanted her to stand on her on. I drew her feet larger at the bottom then added fabric covered soles which gave her the ablity to stand then I made her shoes with fabric covered cardboard also which gave her more stablity....
She Stands!!

Her hair is made from Red Heart yarn that I wrapped around 3/16 inch skewers and soaked in hot water for an hour, patted out the excess water with paper towels then backed in the oven at 200 degrees for 1 hour.  Let them cool completely before removing.

Lily the scottie dog was made from a tutorial from Jenny at Allsorts http://allsorts.typepad.com/allsorts/2006/05/softie_scotty_d.html . I fused my fabric to felt before I cut it out then stitched Lily together.

I thank my Lord Jesus everyday for the many blessing that He has given me and my family!
I thank Him daily for my ablity to create and to do the things I love!

I am the rose of Sharon,
And the lily of the valleys.

SiLLy RaBbiT EaSTeR iS FoR JeSuS!

Used a pattern from Sweet Meadows Farm that I purchased here https://www.etsy.com/transaction/1014421170 to make this cutie! Pattern was very well written and easy to understand.  This was my first time painting doll eyes and I used a tutorial from a pattern that I ordered from this talented lady at https://www.etsy.com/shop/charmingsbycmh it comes with the 18 inch Raggedy Ann and Andy Pattern and it is very easy to follow. Her hair is a Red Heart Stellar yarn in Star and has a little bit of gold strands running threw it.

I wish you many blessings on this beautiful Palm Sunday!

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and not from yourselves it is the gift of God!

KaYLa'S BiRthDaY QuiLT!

It has been quite sometime since I have posted or even pulled out my quilting and I have sure missed it!

My wonderful husband bought me the Janome 12000 sewing and embroidery machine for Christmas and I just love it!  My quilt is for my granddaughter Kayla's birthday in April.  The fabrics are in shades of purple, grey, black and white. Hope to make her a matching rag doll too!

Love You Kayla!
